Midsize SUVs in 2024: Ford Explorer vs Chevrolet Traverse near Oro Valley AZ
The Explorer by Ford and the Traverse by Chevrolet are two of the most popular options among midsize three-row SUVs. Both of these models are affordable options within the segment relative to the competition, but the 2024 Ford Explorer available at ORO Ford actually has a lower MSRP. One advantage that the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse has going for it is that its mid-cycle refresh arrives this year. The Explore won’t receive its refresh until the 2025 model, but we still think the Explorer has the more compelling standard and optional equipment overall and gives you more value too.
Interior spaciousness is something else to consider when comparing the 2024 Ford Explorer vs the 2024 Chevrolet Traverse. Both have three rows, but the Explorer seats either six or seven whereas the Traverse seats either seven or eight. While headroom and legroom are similar in all three rows now due to the wheelbase extension of the Traverse, the Explorer still feels roomier for adults in the second and third rows. Cargo space is similar in practice. On paper, the Traverse offers more, but be mindful that there is no measurement standard. The Explorer also wins for drivers who want to tow a trailer since it offers up to 5,600 pounds of max towing whereas the Traverse maxes out a 5,000 pounds. Visit us at ORO Ford near Oro Valley AZ.
