This is an exciting time for Mustang fans in and near Tucson as the 2024 Ford Mustang that kicks off the all-new seventh Mustang generation is now available at ORO Ford. In this latest review, we’re going to have a look at the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium, which is a new but limited option for this model year. It’s based on the 2024 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback. That means that it has a V8 engine, the coupe body style and the premium equipment package. But there are some notable differences, including exclusive interior and exterior appearance packages and an even more powerful V8.

Interior
The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium near Tucson is a two-row coupe with seating for up to five. Front headroom and legroom are 37.6 and 44.5 inches, respectively, and second-row headroom and legroom are 34.8 and 29.0 inches. The Mustang has 13.3 cubic feet of trunk space as well. The dash of the new Mustang has been completely redesigned it now has a 12.4-inch digital instrument cluster oriented side by side with a 13.2-inch center touch screen with an elevated position. This model also has leather Recaro front sport seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and a premium audio system.
Exterior
The 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium is a two-door coupe with a 107.0-inch wheelbase and an 189.4-inch overall length, which is approximately 15.8 feet. Note that the Dark Horse is not offered with the convertible body style. The Dark Horse also comes standard with an exclusive appearance package, including special 19-inch alloy wheels and a trim-specific spoiler, but is available in a range of colors. Ember Blue is exclusive to this model, but you also have lineup-wide options like Grabber Blue, Shadow Black, Atlas Blue, Rapid Red, Vapor Blue, Race Red and Yellow Splash.
Mechanical
A notable aspect of the 2024 Mustang Dark Horse Premium near Tucson is that it includes many of the options available for the GT, such as the adaptive suspension and short rear differential gear ratio. It also has a trim-specific suspension. Otherwise, most of the standard and optional equipment found on the lower trim is included here: keyless entry, push-button start, performance Brembo brakes, an active exhaust system, performance engine cooling, paddle shifters and so forth.
Powertrain
All Mustang models available to ORO Ford customers in and near Tucson are rear-wheel drive. A 10-speed automatic transmission is not optional with the Dark Horse as it is with the other trims. The Dark Horse has a six-speed manual transmission. This is the same transmission found in the Mach 1 the previous generation and the now-retired Shelby GT350. The Dark Horse features the Coyote V8 engine, but it’s important to note that this V8 has received significant improvements and now makes 500 horsepower and 418 pound-feet of torque.
Safety
A 13.2-inch infotainment touchscreen with Sync 4 and all the bells and whistles customers expect is standard. Standard features include automatic high-beam headlamps, a rearview camera, rear parking sensors, forward collision mitigation and monitoring system for lane departure, blind spot and rear cross-traffic. Options include an integrated navigation system and intelligent cruise control.
