The new F-150 has a starting MSRP of $36,570, which is best in class. Chevrolet advertises a starting MSRP of $36,800, which is close, but if you use Chevy’s online configurator and select the regular cab with the standard bed—the cheapest option—the advertised price jumps about $2K.

Technologies is one of the areas that Ford really stands apart. With the base XL, you get a 12.inch Sync 4 touch screen, keyless entry, auto high-beam headlamps, forward collision mitigation and lane departure mitigation. The Silverado 1500 has a 7-inch touch screen that feels a generation old. A 13.4-inch touch screen is available, but you have to move all the way up to the LT trim level to get it.
